BIOGRAPHY OF DR. HASAN METE AKSOY, MD

SPECIALIST OF PLASTIC AND AESTHETIC SURGERY

Assoc. Prof. Hasan Mete Aksoy, MD received his medical training at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey. He worked as research fellow at Fels Research Institute for Molecular Biology and Cancer, Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (U.S.A.) under supervision by Dr. Sidney Weinhouse, PhD, Professor of Biochemistry in 1990. Dr. Aksoy graduated as doctor of medicine in 1991. Dr. Aksoy did his plastic surgery residency and speciality training at the department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. He graduated as plastic surgery specialist in 2000.

Assoc. Prof. Hasan Mete Aksoy was born in 1967 in Polatlı - Ankara. He completed his university education at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in English between 1984-1991. He worked as research fellow at Fels Research Institute for Molecular Biology and Cancer, Temple University School of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (U.S.A.) abroad in July 1990 with Dr. Sydney Weinhouse, PhD, spent a month working on cancer molecular genetics.

After graduation, he worked in Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital Dermatology Clinic between 1991-1993. He completed his specialization at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery between 1993 and 2000, where he entered being within first 10 degree in the Medical Specialization Examination (TUS). Assoc. Dr. Aksoy worked in Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery for a while after specialization. He worked at Ankara Training and Research Hospital 1. Clinic of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (2000-2005) and T.C.S.B. Ankara Etlik Specialized Hospital (2005-2007). He then left the state service and worked at Ankara Private Batıkent Bilgi Hospital (2007), Ankara Private TDV 29 Mayıs Hospital (2007-2009).

Later than, Assoc. Prof. H. Mete Aksoy settled in Kocaeli, he worked at Kocaeli Private Konak Hospital (2009-2016), VM Medicalpark Hospital (2018-2020) and Izmit Seka State Hospital (2020-2021). Currently Assoc. Prof. Hasan Mete Aksoy works in his own private practice in Kocaeli - İzmit.

Assoc. Dr. Aksoy is married and has a daughter.

In 2018, he started his academic career as a faculty member as Assistant Professor at Bahçeşehir University, Department of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery.  He gained the title of Associate Professor in 2020.

Assoc. Dr. Aksoy speaks advanced English.

Among his professional activities, 64 congress papers presented at national scientific meetings, 45 congress papers presented at international scientific meetings, 31 scientific publications published in national refereed journals, 44 scientific publications published in international refereed journals, as well as studies sent to national and international refereed journals and under evaluation countable. Assoc. Prof. Aksoy has contributed to 5 international and 4 national books. Assoc. Dr. Hasan Mete Aksoy's Google Scholar H-index is 14.
